Does music nowadays need to change for the better?
I was sitting in my room watching Vh1 and Shakira’s new video “She Wolf” came on. I watched it (and this is just personal taste) and I thought “Oh my gosh, that looks so slutty”. I used to love Shakira and I used to love her sound but it sounds like she changed it. I used to love Mariah Carey also but now I don’t. I liked it when not so long ago that there were real songs being written about changing the world and talking about what really matters. When I listen to a song, I for one really pay attention to the lyrics, So I don’t want to hear about people being obsessed with them and having wolves in their closets.And its not just these two artist it seems like its gone mainstream like, you have to have all these little things that you must fit in with. Music determines everything for me and I just wanted to know do you think music needs to change?
It can’t get much worse. Rap is NOT music, and that garbage is all over the airwaves. Nowadays it seems like none of the big-name artists can get a hit unless they do a remake of someone else’s song. So yeah, it needs to get better — people need to write music instead of copying the works of others or talking to a beat…
